BAYERN INNOVATIV, Germany

Bayern Innovativ Ltd is a publicly held company that was set up by the Bavarian State Government in 1995. It is located in Nuremberg and was initiated by politics, science and industry as a corporation for innovation and technology transfer.

The chairman of the supervisory board is the Bavarian State Minister Erwin Huber (Ministry for Economic Affairs, Infrastructure, Transport and Technology); the main shareholder is the LfA Frderbank Bayern.


Bayern Innovativ initiates business driven project cooperations across disciplines and branches taking into account the latest results from the scientific community. It conceives for this reason thematically focused innovation congresses and cooperation fora in Bavaria for international participation.


Companies and institutes can find cooperation in all levels of the value chain – from development, production, logistics and distribution to non-technical aspects such as finance, investment or marketing for sustainable customer relations.
In this way it has built up in the last decade, a network of companies and institutes from over 40 countries primarily in Europe, North America and Asia.


In order to create novel network constellations, Bayern Innovativ focuses on a field of 10 future oriented technologies – for the areas of new materials, biotechnology, microsystem technology and nanotechnology for example, and 10 branches which are important for Bavaria’s industry – such as those of the automotive, electronics, chemical, life science, engineering, building, ceramic or textile industries.
