Climate information that is tailored and delivered in a consistent or ‘seamless’ manner is becoming indispensable for effective decision-making and adaptation planning in many sectors, such as agriculture, governance and disaster response. Seamless climate predictions can respond to this need by providing actionable information across timescales.
In the past three years, the ASPECT project has been developing innovative approaches to bridge climate predictions across seasonal to multi-decadal timescales, and applying these to real-world case studies, promoting sustained dialogue between scientists and users. By placing users at the centre of the process, ASPECT seeks to ensure that advanced climate predictions translate into practical, usable climate services.
At the same time, ASPECT has been working to strengthen capacity across a broader community of practice that can benefit from the project’s methodologies and data, promoting better understanding and uptake of state-of-the-art climate prediction approaches. To this end, our annual User Forums bring together scientists, users and decision-makers to consolidate results and shape together the future of seamless climate services.
This year, we are holding the fourth and final edition of the ASPECT User Forum on the 23 and 24 March 2026! As the project wraps up later this year, this two-day virtual event will highlight our latest scientific advances in seamless climate prediction, explore the benefits for real-world users, and discuss opportunities towards a more resilient future.
What topics will the event cover?
Day 1: 23 March 2026, 14:00-16:00 CET
The first day will focus on users of climate information, addressing their needs and challenges, while exploring co-production approaches for climate service products and their sectoral upscaling potential. External guest speakers and the project’s Super Users will share their experiences and reflect on the future potential of user-driven climate services.
Day 2: 24 March 2026, 14:00-16:00 CET
The second day will focus on the technical aspects of seamless climate predictions, providing the latest science on extended and seamless forecasting approaches, while highlighting the key project results and relevant indicators. The session will also look beyond the ASPECT project as we showcase how the data developed can be accessed and used, explore examples of how seamless climate predictions are being implemented in practice, and discuss their future perspectives.
The agenda can be found below.

Who can participate?
This event is open to everyone interested in understanding climate predictions and how they can be used to improve decision-making, with no specialised knowledge required to participate: current or potential users of climate information, representatives from public agencies, business owners, or members of a non-governmental organisation.
The User Forum is a vital part of the project’s collective effort to build a resilient future. We aim to inform decisions based on accurate climate predictions and shared knowledge. Here, your insights, experiences, and expertise play a crucial role in shaping a more climate-resilient world.
Previous events
Three User Forum events have already been held in the past years (March 2023, January/February 2024 and March 2025). Find more information and the recordings here.
