Climate information for the wine sector: from seasons to years ahead
The wine sector is increasingly challenged by more frequent heatwaves, prolonged droughts and unexpected frosts that are reshaping grape growing and winemaking across the world. To support producers and professionals navigating these changes, ASPECT presented the climate-service prototype co-designed with users in the wine industry.

The webinar opened with a keynote by Antonio Graça (Sogrape), offering an expert perspective on how climate change is transforming the sector. Veronica Torralba and Carlos Delgado from the Barcelona Supercomputing Center then introduced the climate predictions and key indicators developed within ASPECT. From the user side, Xavier Bordes from Codorniu shared how such information can guide decisions in vineyards and wineries.
Kexin Geng (University of Leeds) presented insights from a large European survey on the use of climate information in the wine sector. The session, moderated by Andria Nicodemou (Barcelona Supercomputing Center), concluded with an open discussion where participants can share their experiences and needs regarding this climate service.
