As the ASPECT project approaches its conclusion, we are hosting a workshop on Friday 20th November 2026 at 10:30-12:30 CET to share key scientific advancements, user insights, data and applications, and lessons learned from four years of research and collaboration.
Climate adaptation decisions require climate information that is shaped by user needs and available across timescales, from seasons to decades. Through scientific research and modelling advances, user engagement and co-production, ASPECT has demonstrated how this type of climate information can be improved, and how it can better support adaptation and resilience across Europe.
ASPECT is now seeking to share these findings with those who can use them, build on them, or learn from them. This online workshop is primarily aimed at people working within National Meteorological and Hydrological Services (NMHSs), but anyone interested in using seamless climate information in adaptation decision-making and climate services is welcome to attend.
This 2.5 hour online event will include presentations from ASPECT scientists, providing participants with an overview on important project findings and insights. There will also be opportunities for facilitated discussion between presenters and participants, with interactive time for audience participation at the end of each section. Some of the key topics discussed include:
- New scientific advancements from the project, including extended seasonal and decadal predictions, temporal merging, and downscaling approaches
- Lessons learnt from user research, stakeholder engagement, and co-production of climate information
- Practical case studies exploring the value of climate information for real-world adaptation decisions (read more on our case studies here)
- Data and tools developed through ASPECT, including guidance on how they can be accessed and used.

Workshop agenda
Friday 20th November, 10:30 – 13:00 CET, Microsoft Teams

Each section will combine short presentations with facilitated discussion, giving National Meteorological Services an opportunity to explore the relevance of ASPECT’s work to their own services and users.
